Water Softener Repair, Maintenance & Installation Services in Dublin, OH

Water softeners are a great way to protect your appliances, fixtures, and pipes from the damaging effects of hard water. But what exactly is hard water, and how do you decide if it’s affecting you? Hard water is high in dissolved minerals such as calcium and magnesium. These minerals can cause scale buildup in your pipes, which can reduce the flow of water. It also shortens the lifespan of plumbing fixtures and appliances that use water, such as washing machines and hot water heaters. If you have concerns about your drinking supply or plumbing system, Dublin Plumbing & Drain offers a variety of services to overcome these obstacles.

Dublin Plumbing & Drain specializes in all types of water softeners. You can rely on us to help you with any problem and ensure that the job gets done right the first time. We will make sure you are happy with our work and that you get exactly what you want from us.

How Do Water Softeners Work?

A water softener is a device that uses a combination of salt and water to remove the hardness from water. These devices work by using ion exchange, which is a chemical process that uses resin to remove hardness from water.

The resin used in the ion exchange process is negatively charged and will lose its charge when it comes into contact with positively charged minerals (such as calcium and magnesium) present in hard water. The resin then exchanges its positive charge for negative charges on the mineral molecules, thereby removing them from the solution. After this process has taken place, all that remains is pure softening beads made up only of sodium ions (Na+).

What is Reverse Osmosis?

Reverse osmosis is a process that removes dissolved solids from water. It uses a semi-permeable membrane to allow water to pass through but not the dissolved solids. The feed stream enters at one end and exits at the other end. In this method, pressure is applied to push the contaminated solution (effluent) through the membrane filter under pressure. As the solution passes through, it becomes more concentrated in contaminants and wastes as they pass into waste or drain lines.

The system has no moving parts except for valves used to control flow direction and valves used for draining waste streams which are connected either directly or indirectly via tubing assemblies within the same housing assembly as the effluent discharge port connecting line; therefore, it doesn’t require pumps or motors.

Benefits of Water Softeners?

Cup of Water

Improved Water Taste

With a softener, you’ll start tasting the difference in your water within 3-4 days. You may notice that it tastes a little less metallic or has an improved smell. This is because the minerals are not there to make it taste bitter anymore!

The way that your body digests food depends on how much mineral content there is in your diet.

Pipe Buildup

Less Scale and Scum Buildup

You’re probably aware that scale buildup is bad for your plumbing. That’s because the minerals in water can cause plumbing problems like clogs, slow drains, and rusty fixtures. But did you know that it can also cause water heater issues? The same thing applies to dishwashers and clothes washers — scale buildup will damage or break them down over time.

Hair

Softer Skin and Silkier Hair

Hard water is the reason for many of the health and beauty problems that plague you. From dry skin to brittle hair, hard water causes nothing but trouble all around—but don’t worry! With our help, you can start enjoying the benefits of soft water in no time at all.

What is a water softener?

A water softener is a machine that uses salt to soften water. It works by removing minerals from the water, making it more pleasant to use in your home and good for your health. The process of softening hard water can also help reduce scale build-up on household appliances like washing machines, dishwashers, and heating systems.

Softer water also improves lathering power when cleaning clothes or bathing because soap or shampoo don’t have to work as hard at removing dirt or grime from your body or clothing. It also saves energy costs associated with heating up hard water before using it in your home!

What is hard water?

Hard water is the term used to describe water that has high mineral content. The minerals in hard water can lead to some pretty pesky problems, such as scale buildup in pipes and appliances. Hard water also causes soap scum, which will make your faucets look dingy over time. And if you’re using a well for your home’s drinking water supply, you may find that hard water is causing mineral buildup in your hot water heater, potentially leading to serious damage.

Water softeners work by removing the calcium and magnesium salts from the hard water through a process called ion-exchange. The softened or “conditioned” water is then returned into your home’s plumbing system, where it works just like regular tap water would—and best of all, you won’t have any more soap scum!

How often should one add salt to the softener?

You should add water softener salt to your water softener as needed, but there are a few factors that will determine how much you need to add. First, you should check the settings on your water softener and make sure they’re accurate. The model of your appliance and its size will also influence how often you need to add salt. For example, if you have a large household with many people using the tap for drinking water or cooking purposes (and therefore flushing out the system more frequently), then it’s likely that more salt will be needed than in smaller households where everyone uses less hot water every day. Finally, an extremely hard source of water will require more frequent additions of salt.
